Pr. AVV. FILIPPO TORTORICI
The Lawyer Tortorici Filippo was born in Palermo in January 17, 1947.

After attending the High School degree, he attained his Law degree at the University of Palermo with highest honors. He then attended the University of Dijon at the Faculty of Comparative Law of Luxembourg and the Institute of Maritime Law at the University of Oslo and the Max Planck Institute in Hamburg.


  • Since 1974 he teaches Introduction to Private Law at the Faculty of Economics, at the University of Palermo.
  • Since 2007 he teaches Private International Law at the Faculty of Law of the LUMSA University.
  • Since 1972, He is a lawyer.
  • he parts of the preparation of scientific journal "The right to family and people" ("family and people law").
  • Author of several scientific publications in (both) Italian and foreign legal journals and has participated in several study meetings, seminars and conferences both nationally and internationally, often acting as speaker.
  • He was appointed receiver or liquidator in numerous bankruptcy proceedings by the Court of Palermo, on behalf of the Bank of Italy, special commissioner and liquidator of certain banks.
  • He was a member of the Executive Committee of the International Association of Young Lawyers.
  • Past President of the Association Européenne des Avocats (of which) .He is currently board member of the Vereinigung für den deutschen und italienischen Gedankenaustausch zwischen Juristen.
  • He is Member of Rotary International.
  • From 1997 to 2008 he served as the Honorary Consul of the Federal Republic of Germany to Palermo.
Married to Mrs Gabriella Todaro, He has two young sons: Stefania, graduated in Advertising at Michigan State University and now works at the Deutsche Bank in Frankfurt,  and Michele, graduated in Law at the University of Palermo and He is working in his father's firm.
